How Does Cryotherapy Work?

Cryotherapy will expose you to liquid nitrogen, which will be compressed in a sauna and released as vapor in the air. You’ll wear socks, slippers, and gloves to protect your extremities and will face extremely cold temperatures between -170 to -230 degrees Fahrenheit.

Just like most wellness treatments, cryotherapy will deliver noticeable results after repeat treatments. Most patients benefit from 2 to 3 sessions per week. After a treatment, you can return to work and your daily activities right away. You won’t have to worry about any downtime or disruption to your life.

Good Candidates for Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is the ideal treatment for patients from all walks of life. If you’re an athlete, it can allow you to recover and protect your muscles. Cryotherapy can also expedite your weight loss goals, boost your energy, and elevate your mood.

If you’re living with osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, or arthritis, it can be a good option as well. During a consultation in our office, we can determine whether or not you can benefit from this treatment.

We do not recommend cryotherapy to patients who are pregnant, have severe high blood pressure, are living with cardiovascular disease, or have a pacemaker. Additionally, cryotherapy is not right for anyone with anemia, kidney disease, or urinary tract disorder.
