Michael L. Grainger MD
Dr. Michael L. Grainger is a native of Melbourne, FL. He graduated with honors from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in neurobiological science. He received his medical degree from the University of Miami’s School of Medicine. Dr. Grainger did his internship and radiology residency at the University of Florida, where he was named chief resident and received the RSNA Resident/Fellow Research Award. After completing his residency, Dr. Grainger did a fellowship in abdominal imaging at Duke University, where he was also a clinical instructor in radiology. He returned to the Space Coast in 2007 with his wife, Christina Grainger, DNP, and their three children.
Dr. Grainger is certified by the American Board of Radiology, with a subspecialty in abdominal imaging. He also has extensive experience in neurologic, musculoskeletal and breast imaging, as well as interventional procedures. Building on his interventional radiology experience and extensive knowledge of anatomy, Dr. Grainger has obtained formal training, certification and experience with the latest techniques in the use of Botox®, dermal fillers and aesthetic laser treatments.

Karin is a former USAF Medic, has been a practicing Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration, and has certifications in Laser Hair Removal, (CME) and as a Facial Specialist. Karin has always had a passion for health and wellness. Upon entering her 40’s she also became passionate about antiaging and aesthetics. Combining her career and interests and with the support of her husband they created The Refinery Medspa & Wellness. The Refinery’s focus is to provide the industry’s latest non-surgical aesthetics, anti-aging treatments and supplements in a spa like atmosphere.
Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner
Christina Grainger, DNP, ARNP-BC, RNFA, brings 13 years of combined nursing, surgical and non-surgical cosmetic experience to The Refinery. She is a highly trained cosmetic injector and collaborates with her clients to create natural-looking results. Her artistic eye and attention to detail is what makes her services sought-out and in-demand.
Christina is from Jacksonville, FL. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, FL in 2005 and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Duke University in Durham, NC in 2007. During her studies at Duke, she worked as a registered nurse at Duke University Medical Center on a cardiothoracic step-down unit. In 2015, she graduated from the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. The American Nurses Association and the American Association of College of Nursing has called the DNP the terminal degree in clinical nursing. She is board-certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She is also certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Christina has a robust skill set and has practiced within orthopedic surgery, urgent care medicine, general surgery and aesthetic medicine. She is not only trained in the art of injectables, but has also received laser, IPL, CoolSculpting® and cryotherapy training. She participates in ongoing continuous medical education within the field of aesthetic medicine to educate and empower her clients with the most current information and perform advanced treatments to achieve superior outcomes. Christina also speaks fluent Spanish.
NP, ARNP Registered Nurse Practitioner
Lauren Long was always attracted to the medical field, and selected the University of Alabama in Birmingham’s accelerated master’s degree in Nursing Pathway as her route in 2014. While working at UAB Hospital as a staff nurse, she successfully completed her Master of Science in Nursing Practice in Primary Adult/Gerontology in August 2018. Shortly after graduation, she became certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and obtained her license as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. During the nurse practitioner training, she elected to specialize in dermatology. From that experience stemmed an interest and passion for aesthetics and skin care. Lauren is no stranger to patient satisfaction, and has completed training by the Esthetic Skin Institute in Botox, fillers, lasers, and advanced Botox and fillers treatments. Lauren is very excited to begin this journey of her career at The Refinery!
Amber Spies is a dedicated licensed esthetician with a desire for educating others. She empowers her clients with knowledge while helping them understand their individual skin needs. Working independently as a esthetician and lash artist, she has developed a reputation for going above and beyond for her clients. She understands the competitive nature of today’s world, and has a true desire to help everyone look and feel their best.
Bailey is excited to combine her interest in aesthetics with her job as a receptionist at The Refinery Medspa. She is currently attending esthetician school and is embracing the hands-on knowledge she is gaining. Bailey especially enjoys all the customer service interaction. Being an animal lover, when Bailey isn’t at work or school she enjoys spending her free time with all her animals, reading and music.
Licensed Medical Esthetician, Tattoo Artist, Lash Tech and Makeup Artist
Cat’s first love is for aesthetics, having grown up with a mother who owned countless successful aesthetic related businesses. Cat’s own interest in the aesthetics industry developed at an early age when she started doing makeup for family and friends. She became so proficient in makeup that she became a freelance makeup artist.
Cat attended Parisian Spa Institute in Jacksonville, FL. She graduated with a 4.0 GPA and took many advanced classes with the Institute including, but not limited to, Microneedling, Dermaplaning, Permanent Makeup, and Microblading. She then took this extensive education into the real world to co-run a salon in Amelia Island located in Northern Florida. Cat brings her skills to The Refinery Medspa where her customer-focused approach making people look and feel better.
