Is Microneedling Painful?

How Microneedling Works
Once you and your provider decide that microneedling is the right treatment for you, the treatment will be performed with a specialized device. This device will glide over your skin with super-thin needles. This will create a controlled wound that will regenerate collagen and elastin so your body can naturally revitalize your skin.
When patients first learn that needles are involved in this treatment, they automatically assume it’s painful. The good news is that this is not the case. Here’s why: Before the treatment begins, we’ll apply a topical numbing cream to ensure optimal comfort and minimal pain.
Once the treatment has been completed, you can expect some redness that will fade away on its own within a few hours to days after treatment. On the first day, you need to minimize sun exposure and any activity that may involve sweating. On the second day, you may resume your everyday activities and use light makeup and sunblock with at least an SPF 30 to cover up any redness and protect your new skin from damaging UV rays. You will need to avoid products with alpha-hydroxy acids, retinol, or Retin-A for at least a few days after a session, you should enjoy incredible results.
What Kind of Results Does Microneedling Deliver?
