What is BioTE® Hormone Optimization Therapy Like?
After extensive lab testing to determine the best custom compound for you, a pellet containing your Hormone compound is created. During your insertion appointment, the area of insertion—typically the upper buttocks—is numbed. The pellet is inserted through a small incision, which is then covered and bandaged. You may resume most of your normal activities after your appointment, but exercising the lower body should be minimized until the bandage is removed. The number of times a new pellet will be inserted within 12 months is determined by the patient’s unique physiology and hormone dosage.
What Results Can I Expect?
Some clients report feeling improvement to their symptoms in as little as 4 weeks, but it may take up to 6 months for others to reach a stable level of relief. The duration of your equilibrium remains for as long as the dosage is being released. Once the pellet is depleted, another insertion session is necessary to continue your BioTE® Hormone Optimization Therapy.
Is There Any Downtime?
It is recommended you avoid saunas, hot tubs, and pools until your bandage can be removed. Showers are fine, but avoiding hot baths is also recommended.
